Fall Family Fest 2016

An old-fashioned harvest festival for all ages
Saturday, October 22, 1 to 4pm, McCormick Park

Fall is here… it’s time for hayrides, apple cider and old-fashioned harvest festivals. Missoula Parks and Recreation invites kids and their families to the 16th Annual Fall Family Fest and Kaboom! Play Day on October 22.

Fall Family Fest is great fun for the whole family and includes wheelchair-accessible hayrides, crafts for all ages, s'mores, face painting, cider pressing, folf, activity booths from local youth organizations, live music from the Salamanders and Tom Catmull and much more! Kids can check out the Silver Summit playground in McCormick Park, and food and beverage vendors will be on hand.

New this year, Boyce Lumber & Design Center is sponsoring a wood-carving contest for experienced woodcarvers. Contestants may pick up a 12” cottonwood blank from Currents Aquatics Center any time after October 1. A $20 refundable deposit is required for each entrant (checks only, please.) Entries will be displayed at Fall Family Fest and festival attendees will vote for the winners. Prizes, courtesy of Boyce Lumber, are awarded for first three places. Rules and entry information will be available here by Sept. 23. Carvers may choose to raffle off their creations at Fall Family Fest as a fundraiser for the MORE Program.

As a nationally recognized “Playful City USA,” Missoula celebrates Kaboom! Play Day as part of Fall Family Fest to help build awareness for the importance of play and strengthen our community.  The suggested donation is $1 per person; proceeds benefit Parks and Recreation’s MORE Program—helping people of all ages and abilities get outside and stay active!

Fall Family Fest is sponsored by U104.5, Missoula Broadcasting Co., Make It Missoula, Boyce Lumber & Design Center, Missoula Fresh Market, Orange St. Food Farm and many more generous local businesses and organizations.
