The annual Frost Fever is back! 

Wear your craziest hat for this wintery fun run/walk along the Riverfront Trail System. Choose from the new 1-mile or traditional 5K route. Register by Jan. 11 for a discounted price and the guarantee of a performance-wear cap on race day! Great prize drawings and awards for the top finishers in each category AND the best hat! That’s right, dress in your coolest/craziest/most unique hat and you could win some cool prizes. All racers get a 50% off Currents coupon good during the Frost Fever weekend...warm up in the sparkling spa after the race with friends!

New this year: Parks and Recreation welcomes the different ways we all move and recreate, and is proud to introduce wheeled division in this year’s Frozen Frolic. Wheeled division will start 15 minutes before the foot race and racers may participate in either the 1-mile or 5K course.

Jan. 6 - 20: Tuesdays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 9am
Join us for a fun way to prepare for the 2015 Frost Fever 1-mile or 5K race. Beginners and experienced participants welcome! Whether or not you’ve done a fun run/walk, you’ll enjoy preparing for Frost Fever with like-minded individuals. The group will help keep you motivated and trained for an enjoyable experience on race day. All participants receive support from a Sports & Wellness staff, tips on a successful fun run/walk, a “vintage” Frost Fever long-sleeve shirt, and a fun way to stay active in the winter months. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight on Tuesday evenings!

Frost Fever Ice Bowl Disc Golf (Folf) Tournament
Saturday, January 24, 10:30am at Fort Missoula Park
Join Parks and Recreation and the Garden City Flyers at Fort Missoula for the first-ever Frost Fever Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament. We’ll play snow or shine on an 18-hole, all-levels friendly course. Players will receive a commemorative Ice Bowl disc and other goodies in their player packs. Net proceeds from the event benefit Share The Fun recreation grants for families needing financial assistance. Bring a canned food donation and get a free mulligan! 

Age Division Fee
17+ Pro: Competitive players challenged with varying tee boxes and smaller pars playing two rounds of 18 $20
17+ Advanced: Players challenged with varying tee boxes playing two rounds of 18 $20
17-39 Recreation: Players out to enjoy disc golf, choose between one or two rounds of 18 $20
17-39 Women's: Recreational women's players out to enjoy disc golf, choose between one or two rounds of 18 $20
40+ Master's: Recreation players over the age of 40 out to enjoy disc golf, choose between one or two rounds of 18 $15
16 and under Juniors: Youth players of all skill levels welcome, play one round of 18 $15
$2 per mulligan, purchase day of event OR bring 2 canned food donations for a free limit to the number of mulligans purchased or received by bringing donations!

Marshall Mountain Classic Snowshoe and Nordic Ski Race AND Winter Carnival

All proceeds benefit our REACH MORE program, which makes adventure and recreation accessible to people with disabilities. 

Snowshoe and Nordic Ski Race:
$30 for adults, $15 for youth 
Race registration includes swag bag filled with goodies, a Buff® multi-function ski cap, and raffle tickets for door prizes. Adult and youth divisions available.

Elite Course 3 mile loop: 860 feet of elevation gain
Greenhorn Course 1.5 mile loop: 336 feet of elevation gain
Moose Gallop 1 mile loop: flat course

Nordic Ski Race
1.5 miles, with some elevation gain.

There will be a free shuttle from McCormick Park to take you up to Marshall Mountain. 
Marshall Mountain Classic Snowshoe Training
Jan. 24 - Feb. 14: Saturdays 10am-12pm
Whether you’re an experienced snowshoer or new to the sport, these classes are perfect to get you ready for the race. Classes are held on the four Saturdays leading up to the day of the race. We will instruct on technique, course navigation, and physical endurance. Price includes four weeks of instruction, free entrance into the race, MORE program Buff®, free use of snowshoes for class, and the inside edge!
Fee: Youth $15/$12 with CityCard
Adult $45/$40 with CityCard
