The Plans Unit of the Missoula Police Department is made up of the Plans Sergeant and a Crime Analyst Officer.

They are the strategic arm of the Police Department, looking ahead for upcoming events that will require police resources. They also look for patterns in criminal activity, and the identification of wanted, dangerous, or persistent criminal offenders

Evidence and Identification

Evidence and Identification is part of the Plans Section that collects, maintains, and disposes of evidence, and property, according to accepted protocols.

Processing crime scenes, maintaining digital image evidence, preparing visual aids for court or department presentations, and performing fingerprinting services are also functions of the Evidence and Identification Section.
