By now, property owners should have received their 2023 appraisal notices from the Montana Department of Revenue. The DOR is holding a public meeting in Missoula on July 12 at 3 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn to help residents understand the valuation process. There are also some virtual meeting options for those who cannot attend in person.
Your appraisal does affect your property taxes, but the estimated taxes shown on the appraisal notice is based on last year's mill levies and is likely higher than what you will see this fall.
