This email is to inform you that the City of Missoula, Missoula County, the Poverello Center, and the Human Resource Council are again partnering to provide an emergency winter shelter at 1919 North Ave W., the same location as last year.
 
Last year, the City opened the emergency winter shelter program at the Johnson Street Community Center. This temporary shelter served up to 135 people each night during the winter months and saved many lives. A year ago, we could not have predicted the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2020 emergency shelter was intended to be a one-year endeavor. However, the lives saved and the resources provided were vital to keeping folks safe. For this reason, the center will be operating again this year from November 1, 2021, through April 2022, or as needs dictate.
 
We understand this center impacts surrounding businesses and residents. We want to hear your questions and concerns. You are invited to attend a virtual neighborhood meeting to meet with our team. This meeting will be held via Zoom, but call-in options are available.
