“JEDI Resolutions: Not the Star Wars You May Think”

If you have been wondering what JEDI is all about, not in the context of Star Wars, but in the context of public policy, here is an opportunity to find out more.  Both the City of Missoula and Missoula County passed JEDI (Justice, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) resolutions in 2021.  The purpose of this free webinar forum is to provide more information and answer questions about the City and County’s recent passage of JEDI resolutions. 
 
Speakers for the webinar include: Dr. Salena Beaumont-Hill, Director of Inclusive Excellence at the University of Montana, who will describe the larger context for the DEI/JEDI movement and how the University of Montana is incorporating these ideals; Councilwoman Mirtha Becerra and County Commissioner Juanita Vero who will describe how and why the resolutions were passed and the vision behind the resolutions; and City and County staff members Ashley Brittner Wells, National League of Cities JEDI Coordinator for the City of Missoula and Rozlyn Haley, JEDI Fellow for Missoula County, who will provide an update on implementation of the resolutions and how citizens can engage in the process.
