Happy Friday all,
Are y’all looking for exciting ways to spend your Saturday morning/afternoon this week? As many of you know, May is
National Historic Preservation Month! In an effort to recognize the historic places that have played pivotal roles in making Missoula everything it is today, the Historic Preservation Commission invites y’all out to the LaLonde Ranch (5404 W. Harrier Dr.)
tomorrow, May 21st from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm to explore and learn more! Move about the site at your own pace and enjoy an opportunity to get inside and check out one of Missoula County’s oldest historic sites!
Additionally, as a reminder, on
Wednesday, June 1st from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, the Historic Preservation Commission will be holding their annual preservation awards ceremony at the National Museum of Forest Service History to recognize the individuals, organizations, and/or projects that have worked to preserve Missoula's cultural and historic landscape, as well as three businesses/institutions that were established in Missoula 100+ years ago. Please join us in celebrating the folks who continue to provide models for the successful preservation of our historic sites and work to protect and enhance Missoula's sense of place.
If you have any questions about any of the events, please don't hesitate to reach out. We hope to see some of y'all out there!
Thank you,
Elizabeth Johnson | She/Her/Hers |Historic Preservation Officer
