Hi Neighbors!
Please join us on
Tuesday, October 18th from 5:30-7:00 PM at Lowell Elementary School for a celebration of Indigenous expression, community organizing, and public art!
Through the 2022 Northside-Westside Public Art & Placemaking Project, neighbors and artists have come together to bring 2 murals to our neighborhood – “A Small Salish Lesson” by Danielle Vazquez and Jacinda Morigeau and a to-be-named mural by Stella Nall. We are so lucky to have this artwork in our community!
At this celebration and opening, we will have a community conversation about public art, hear from the artists, celebrate our neighbor-volunteers, and get a small taste of Indigenous food traditions from Qéne’s Catering. After viewing Stella Nall’s mural on Lowell School, we'll invite everyone to walk, roll, bike, or drive as a group through our community and across the Scott Street bridge to appreciate “A Small Salish Lesson” in the Northside.
This event begins in the Lowell School cafeteria, which you can reach by entering the east side of the school (the side facing the park). See you there and please share this event within your community (
