City of Missoula E-Notifications Banner

Good afternoon neighbors of Willard Alternative Learning High School Program:
I would like to offer you some updates about the construction progress and future abatement and demolition plans for the old building.
Move in Details
The new building is almost complete and we plan to have movers bring furniture and materials from the old building into the new building on December 29, 2018.
Teachers will be setting up their classrooms on Monday, January 7, 2019.
Students will return to classes in the new building on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Open House
We invite you all to join the staff, students, families and neighbors for the Willard Community Open House and Potato Feed on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5:30-7:30pm. We want to help show you around the new building and welcome in the community.
Abatement and Demolition Schedule
In Mid-February, MCPS will have contractors starting the abatement process inside of the old school building. Once that is complete, demolition will proceed.
We are planning two possible periods for demolition: March 25-29, 2019 or June 10-14, 2019. Once demolition is complete, we will provide any bricks that are salvageable on a pallet on one corner of the lot to allow neighbors to collect pieces of the old building they wish to collect.
We anticipate the staging area currently being used by the construction contractors to remain fenced off until the entire project is complete.
Everyone at MCPS and Sletten Companies would like to offer our appreciation for your patience while this construction project continues in your neighborhood. If you have any questions or concerns during the remaining construction and demolition process, please address them to:
