Experiencing wildfire and smoke is part of life in Missoula. To help reduce the risk of severe fire, the Missoula Ranger District, the State of Montana, and other partners are working together on a project called Wildfire Adapted Missoula, or WAM.
Come learn from a fire scientist, a WAM project manager and firefighters about improving forest resiliency and reducing fire risk. We'll talk about:
- The state of our forests and why we need to work across ownership boundaries
- What being fire-adapted means
- The shared vision for forests around Missoula
- Community and private property preparedness
Please note that these are informal events intended for interactive discussion and are not public hearings of record.
