Heart of Missoula Receives National Award
Please join us for the presentation of a special award by the American Planning Association to the Heart of Missoula!
Friday, Oct. 6, 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the Missoula Art Park at East Pine Street and Pattee Street, with presentation of the award and brief speeches at 5 p.m.
Missoula’s Heart of Missoula neighborhood has earned a national award from the American Planning Association as one of five Great Neighborhoods in the nation.
The event is sponsored by the Blackfoot Corporation, and hosted by the the Missoula Downtown Foundation in partnership with the City of Missoula, the Office of Neighborhoods, and the Western Central Chapter of the American Planning Association.
The APA announced the national award on Wednesday. The award honors neighborhoods that demonstrate “exceptional character, quality and planning,” crediting Missoula’s planning efforts with creating a renaissance downtown, drawing people to the city’s central downtown and residential area with pedestrian-oriented improvements and an abundance of public events.
