Major Projects
East Front Street Parking Structure
The MRA is working with the Missoula Parking Commission to build a
new downtown parking structure on the southeast corner of Front and
Pattee Streets. The goal is to build approximately 400 new spaces to
meet retail and employee parking needs. The new building will include
retail space on the corner of Front and Pattee. Construction will begin
in Spring 2011.For more information please contact
Ellen Buchanan at 406-552-6156.
Fox Site Development
The Fox Site is located along the north shore of the Clark Fork
River at the southwest corner of the intersection of Orange and West
Front Streets. The city, through MRA, has prepared the Fox Site to
accommodate a model multi-use development which will be the anchor of
the west entrance to the downtown core and the east entry to the West
Broadway corridor. The city has directed MRA to seek an appropriate
private development team to realize this vision. View the

Greater Downtown Master Plan
The MRA partnered with the Business Improvement District, the
Missoula Parking Commission, the Missoula Downtown Association, and
numerous business and property owners to create the first long range
master plan for the downtown area. After over a year of planning and
numerous public meetings, the plan was adopted by City Council in August
2009. The East Front Street parking structure is one of the first
catalyst projects in the implementation phase. View the

Old Sawmill District Project
After nearly 100 years as a lumber mill, the 45-acre site
along the south shore of the Clark Fork River is being cleaned up and
made ready for an urban-density, multi-use residential, and commercial
neighborhood. Now called the Old Sawmill District, the site is adjacent
to the downtown core and established residential neighborhoods. The
project will also feature a nearly 15-acre riverfront public park, an
extensive trail system, and parking for the civic stadium which hosts
the Osprey minor-league baseball team and other events. View the
Old Sawmill District online. For more information, please contact
Ellen Buchanan at 406-552-6156.
Silver Park
This nearly 15-acre park is being developed in conjunction
with the Old Sawmill District project. MRA is managing the construction
of the Park, which will include a riverfront trail, pavilion, bench
shelters, parking lot and boat ramp in addition to open space. The
riverfront trail, bench shelters, parking lot and boat ramp are all
complete.Current construction taking place includes placement o fa
pedestrian bridge at the west end of the trail near California Street
Bridge and installation of landscaping and lighting along the riverfront
trail. A subsequent phase will follow for construction of the remainder
of the Park as funding allows. For more information, please contact
Chris Behan at 406-552-6155.
Southgate Area Redevelopment Plan
The primary objective of the Southgate Area Redevelopment Plan is to
identify strategies for redeveloping vacant property south of Southgate
Mall and provide direction on how to best apply public and private
dollars toward that goal. The plan defines a vision for the property and
contains specific goals and objectives to achieve that vision. View the
Southgate Area Redevelopment Plan Summary Report - July 2006. If you are interested in this area of URD III, please contact

West Broadway Corridor Vision Plan
The MRA and the city partnered to fund a public process that allowed
the community to define the future of one of the major streets
providing access to the downtown and the only east west arterial north
of the Clark Fork River. A portion of West Broadway was modified from
a four-lane to a three-lane street in 2006, creating a great deal of
controversy and discussion in the community. The MRA took that
opportunity to invite the community to take a much broader look at the
corridor and develop a vision to guide investment of public funds in
that part of Urban Renewal District II. View the
West Broadway Corridor Vision Plan. For more information, please contact
