The purpose of the GIS Strategic Plan is to evaluate the City's and County's information systems and assess the needs for new or enhanced geographic information management and analysis capabilities. The outcome of this assessment is the establishment of strategic priorities for systems development activities.
After review and approval of the needs assessment, the following tasks were to be performed:
- Conceptual data and model for strategic geographic subject
- Data development and maintenance plan
- Organizational analysis
- Hardware and software solutions
- Implementation plan
The Plan was completed in July 1998 and an update was done in 2002.
