Fundraising Efforts
Make a Contribution
The Missoula Fire Department (MFD) is currently fundraising for two different projects. If you would like to make a contribution to either of these efforts, please make your check payable to the City of Missoula, note the program you are supporting on the memo line and send your donation to:
Missoula Fire Department

Missoula, MT 59802
We will send you a receipt and thank you letter. For questions, call us at 406-552-6210.
Donations to the City of Missoula, a non-profit entity, may be tax deductible. Please contact a tax professional or your governmental taxing authority to determine if your donation is tax deductible.
Smoke Detector Program
Our Smoke Detector Program goal is to assure that every residential property classification in Missoula, whether house, apartment, condo, or duplex, has a working smoke detector. To date, we have provided over 12,000 smoke detectors and over 30,000 batteries during our door-to-door campaign.
The program is partially funded by grants, but it still falls short of our need. Smoke detectors for those who are hearing and vision impaired costs about $100 each. If you would like to help our smoke detector program, please send your contribution to our Headquarters.
Firefighter Combat Challenge Team
The MFD has funded and maintained a nationally-recognized and award-winning Firefighter Combat Challenge Team. Our team won the World Championship in 1997 and 2001, setting a new team world record. Our team has been showcased on Combat Challenge highlight shows on ESPN and the Arts & Entertainment channel.
To date, the team has won more than $30,000 in prizes in the form of training aids, books, manuals, tools, and equipment for use by the MFD. The department budgets some funds every year to help the team compete, but the team also needs to raise funds in order to compete in and travel to the annual world challenge. If you would like to support us in our efforts, please send your contribution to our headquarters.
