League of Women Voters of hosts Public Forum on Local Government Study
Missoula, MT – The League of Women Voters of Missoula is hosting an informational forum on a Review of Local Government in a public program Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Missoula Public Library, Cooper Room A. The forum is free and open to the public.
Every ten years, the voters of every Montana County, City and Town are asked if they want to review their form of local government. That question will be on the ballot across Montana in June of 2024. What does it mean to you and your neighbors? Geoff Badenoch, League of Women Voters Board Member, has 22 years’ experience in local government and served on Missoula’s Local Government Review Commission in the 1990’s. His presentation explains the roots of this once a decade question and what the answer to the question means for your local government. The League of Women Voters Missoula is undertaking a public education program over the next year or so to inform the people of Missoula and Missoula County about this upcoming vote.
