Syringa Bike Park's TJO Fly Zone to Open Next Week

Missoula Parks and Recreation will open the TJO Fly Zone free ride features at Syringa Bike Park the week of May 20, pending final site preparation and dry weather conditions. When work is complete, Parks staff will remove the orange safety fencing and unlock jump line gates, signaling the opening of the park's second phase.

The new jump lines are for skilled riders only, permitting one rider at a time on each line. Course maps and signs outline the recommended skills progression and park rules. Helmets are required; additional protective gear is strongly recommended.

Due to the park's small size, competitive events and amplified music or announcements are prohibited. The park is alcohol- and smoke-free, closing at dusk or 10 p.m., whichever is earlier.

To report concerns during business hours, call Park Operations at 406-552-6253. After hours, call 911 for excessive noise, park hours violations, or other serious issues. Syringa Park is located at 1465 Lower Lincoln Hills Dr.

For more information, visit www.missoulaparks.org or phone 406-552-6253.

Please Note: Project partners MTB Missoula and Friends of Missoula Parks will host a small donor recognition event on Thursday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. to honor Tanner J. Olsen, an avid mountain biker and skier who passed away in 2011 at age 14. Attendees will park at Pineview Park and bicycle to Syringa Park, arriving around 6:30 p.m. This event is not being advertised to the general public, but residents are welcome to attend to visit with Parks staff and project partners.

Enjoy your ride at TJO Flyzone:

  • Helmets are required.
  • Do not ride when the jump line is wet, it will significantly damage the riding surface and require temporary closures for repair.
  • There is no dedicated parking on-site. Users are encouraged to park at Pineview Park or ride to the park.
  • The jump lines are placed in order of difficulty, with rider progression in mind. The easiest jumps are the south line (furthest from Lincoln Hills Dr).
  • Prohibited activities include amplified music or sounds, smoking, alcohol, modification of technical bike features or tracks.
