Missoula Wildfire Resources

Wildfire Resources for Residents

Residents who are looking for information about the Butler Creek Fire, the Miller Peak Fire, and about other current and future fires as well, can use these tools to stay up-to-date.

  • Be sure you are signed up for Smart 911 (https://www.smart911.com/). You will receive alerts when there is a threat to your neighborhood, for instance when evacuation is necessary during a wildfire.
  • If you have a smart phone, consider getting the app Watch Duty. It’s free, and it gives frequent updates and links to evacuation maps.
  • Follow the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana DNRC on their social media pages.
  • Take a look at the new County map site missoula.co/evacuationmap.
  • Take a look at www.mtfireinfo.org for detailed information from around the region.

These are a few of the resources available for you and your community to be informed of evacuations, other resources, and changing conditions.
