Dear Northside and Westside Neighbors,

Parks and Recreation and the city's Office of Neighborhoods warmly invite you to a special design workshop for Northside parks on Saturday, September 28, at Lowell Elementary. The workshop will run from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes a light lunch and childcare. We encourage you to stay for the full workshop if possible.

Together, we will engage in a collaborative design process to develop concepts for:

  • A new 5.4-acre park at Scott and Rodgers.
  • Enhancements to the existing Northside Park and Annex (including the ballfield and community garden.)

The city is actively pursuing land acquisition for the new park, which will serve the growing Northside/Westside neighborhoods and replace White Pine Park. We will also cover the timeline and process for improvements to Northside Park and Annex.

Parks and Recreation Director Donna Gaukler emphasizes the importance of resident feedback in shaping neighborhood parks. "This exciting, hands-on workshop will give you the opportunity to contribute to your neighborhood's future," Gaukler said. "We welcome families and encourage you to bring friends and neighbors. We're excited to work with residents to create welcoming parks and play spaces that meet community needs."

We hope you can attend and share your ideas. If you’re unable to join us, please stay updated on the project and upcoming public comment opportunities at engagemissoula.com. (The Engage Missoula project page will be available by 9/12/24.)
