S. 13th St. W. Water Main
Project Begins
Mon., Mar. 10
Dear Franklin to the Fort Neighbors,
The City of Missoula's Public Works & Mobility Department is scheduled to begin a water main replacement project on S. 13th St. W. (west of Schilling St. to west of Kemp St.) on Monday, March 10, 2025, with completion expected around April 22.
Schilling St. will be closed to through traffic at S. 13th St. W., but detour signs will be in place to direct traffic around the construction area. Please drive slowly and cautiously through the neighborhood detour routes. Local access will be allowed for residents only.
This project will replace approx. 600 linear feet of invasion steel and steel water main that was originally installed in 1935 and 1947. Replacing old water main helps to prevent unplanned service disruption for water utility customers. Also, replacing leaking pipes saves electricity used to run water pumps to move water that ends up leaking from the system before it reaches customers.
All project dates are subject to change due to inclement weather conditions or other unforeseeable circumstances.
Additional information, project area maps, and updates, if needed, will be posted on the City website at www.ci.missoula.mt.us/2668/Water-Projects.
