We’re excited to invite you to our annual Application Workshop: an informative and valuable event for all prospective applicants for our CDBG and Affordable Housing Trust Fund dollars. The City of Missoula will open its 2026 Community Development funding cycle at the end of November and will be accepting applications through January 30th, 2026. These Community Development funds support projects and programs that benefit low-to-moderate income people and create lasting community improvements. For prospective applicants, the Application Workshop will go through the upcoming Unified Application and help answer any questions.

What's New This Year?
Given the evolving federal funding environment, the City of Missoula is proceeding under the assumption that the upcoming CDBG allocation will be consistent with prior years. Should the final award amount differ materially, we will notify all applicants.
With that in mind, the City of Missoula expects to award approximately $550,000 in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and $309,380 in Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) dollars.
Our 2026 application will be abbreviated, and applicants that are selected for funding will submit additional information during a pre-contracting period. By doing so, the City of Missoula hopes to reduce the burden on applicants.
The application will be used determine eligibility for the funds available and will be scored by the Scoring Committee. Top-scoring projects that are selected for funding will be asked to provide additional information required by the funding sources prior to signing a contract.

Application Process: We’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of using Submittable to complete and submit your application.
Q&A Session: At the end of the workshop, there will be dedicated time for questions and answers. This is where you can get clarification on any concerns you may have about the application process, eligibility, or any other related topic.
