Trial Summons

Juror Questionnaire - Please complete the Questionnaire as to Qualification for Jury Service within 72 hours of receipt of your Summons letter.  This will serve as your confirmation of your Summons.  

Requests to be excused - If you cannot attend jury service on the date/time for which you were summoned to appear you must submit a written request to be excused for the Court’s consideration, Affidavit for Excusal Online Form or contact our office to receive a paper copy of the Affidavit for Excusal by mail.  If you requested a paper copy of the Affidavit, it can be returned via email to CourtJurors@ci.missoula.mt.us, presented in person, mailed to the address found on the Summons, or faxed to (406) 327-2129. Please include a contact information to update you on the status of your request.

Parking - You may use the 3rd level of the Central Park parking structure (public parking area only), on the corner of Main and Ryman. Bring the parking garage stub to Municipal Court for validation when your attendance is confirmed. We do not validate metered parking

Payment – Checks for jury service will be mailed out approximately two (2) weeks after the conclusion of the trial. 
                     You can expect to be paid as followed:

                    · $12.00 to appear as a potential juror
                    · $25.00 per day if you are selected to sit as a trial juror

Trial Status - Jury trials are sometimes settled at the last minute. We will make every attempt to notify you if you do not need to appear. In order for us to keep you informed of the final status of the jury trial, we request that you check the Jury Trial Status page prior to departing for the Courthouse and/or call (406) 552-6170, option 2 to hear the Jury Trial Status message. If the case has not settled it is important that you report to Municipal Court located in City Hall at 435 Ryman St.
