Cost Share and Dedication Trees

The Cost Share and Dedication Tree programs have been temporarily suspended while we prioritize the completion of the current tree planting season. We will plant hundreds of new trees next year in neighborhoods throughout the City and on City open space.

We plan to reinstate these programs at some point in the future. Cost Share and Dedication trees are important to Missoula’s urban forest.  We will use this time to reevaluate and redesign the programs so they better meet the needs of residents and the Urban Forestry Division. We will look at ways to improve planting success and climate resiliency and target areas where the need for equity and urban canopy replacement is greatest.

Property owners are welcome to purchase and plant a tree in their adjacent boulevard after securing a permit from the Urban Forestry Division. Learn more
