ComMUNIty Court is a Municipal Court program that brings court services directly to the unhoused community at the Poverello Center, the Watershed Navigation Center, and the Missoula Public Library. Recognizing that housing insecurity often presents significant barriers to accessing needed community resources, ComMUNIty Court collaborates with various community partners, providing for a monthly one-stop resource hub for participating defendants. This model provides the opportunity for the Court to meet people where they are, lessening the systemic challenges that often compound legal matters. Participants can quash warrants, make an initial appearance on new charges, consult with a public defender, speak directly with a judge, check upcoming court dates, and connect with a variety of essential community resources.
ComMUNIty Court is held on the second and last Friday of every month from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (court starts at 1:00 PM).
