The Non-Emergency Desk is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week by five full-time Police Support Specialists available to take non-emergency reports for the department. In addition, this unit is a 24-hour-a-day resource for Missoula citizens. Police Support Specialists take numerous calls throughout the day and assist callers with finding the resources they need or assisting them directly.

In 2023, this unit completed 27% of the Department's reports, freeing up our Patrol Division to remain on the streets and complete emergency response. They are specialists in the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN), the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and assist the Detective Division with investigations, the City Attorney's office with prosecutions, and also the Municipal Court with day-to-day operations.
