The week of August 22, through August 26, crews remain present throughout the Mullan area.
 
PLEASE WATCH FOR SIGNS AND SLOW DOWN ON MULLAN ROAD. Highway patrol crew members are present. Fines double for drivers receiving speeding tickets in the area. Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe!
 
School starts for Hellgate Elementary School District on Wednesday, August 31. Please be aware of increased traffic and pedestrians and continue to be cautious when driving, walking or bicycling. 
 
Roadwork is taking place on the north end of Mary Jane Boulevard. Specifically, paving continues between Flynn Lane and Broadway. On Monday, access to Broadway from Veterans Way and Summit Beverage will be redirected through Flynn Lane.
 
Connected to this, but part of a different MDT project, crews are starting the installation of a signalized intersection where Mary Jane Boulevard connects to Broadway. This MDT project also includes improvements to the Flynn Lane/Broadway intersection. Traffic detours will be present in the coming weeks as Flynn Lane and Mary Jane Boulevard will be partially closed for periods of time to facilitate the construction.  Please anticipate delays.
 
In addition, a detour remains on Mullan Road, located immediately east of Flynn Lane. Here, crews continue paving the roundabout at the intersection of Mary Jane Boulevard and Mullan Road.
 
George Elmer Drive between Mullan Road and Bell Tower Road is closed through the end of construction season for installation of the roundabout. Traffic continues to be detoured. The detour on Mullan Road will be moved to a newly constructed frontage road after it has been paved.  This frontage road paving is currently planned for Tuesday, August 23. Drivers will notice a new traffic configuration. 
 
Lastly, utility work is taking place on England Boulevard between Flynn Lane and George Elmer Drive. 
 
Please prepare for 10 - 20 minutes of delays when traveling through any of the above work zones.

Missoula County, the City of Missoula, and contractors have partnered with Kiewit Construction to complete the Mullan BUILD project, which is anticipated to be substantially completed by the end of 2022. The work includes infrastructure and roadway construction of Mary Jane Boulevard South, Mary Jane Boulevard North, England Boulevard, George Elmer Drive, and two roundabout intersections along Mullan Road (Mullan/George Elmer Drive and Mullan/Mary Jane Boulevard).
