CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:
  
 Mary Jane Boulevard North
Most of the Mary Jane North project improvements are complete for this construction season. The remaining scope will be focused on the back side of the curb and gutter to ensure proper drainage this winter.
 
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has a separate project on West Broadway, and crews are working on the installation of a signal at the intersection of Mary Jane Boulevard and West Broadway. The MDT project also includes improvements at the intersection of Flynn and West Broadway, requiring traffic control along West Broadway.  Please follow traffic sign information for detours and local access. Please drive the posted speed limit and watch for workers and equipment near the roadway. 
 
Mary Jane Boulevard South & Roundabout
Line work has been completed, and traffic is now entirely on the roundabout. As weather permits, crews will pave the access road south of the roundabout and continue curb and gutter work within the medians of the roundabout. The roundabout and access to Mary Jane will be complete and fully opened to traffic later this fall.
 
George Elmer Drive & Roundabout
Crews paved a temporary lane for eastbound traffic. The roundabout is now open to eastbound and westbound Mullan traffic. Crews will be focusing on reconstructing Marie Drive and completing the frontage road. Remaining paving operations at the roundabout will be completed as weather permits.  
 
England Boulevard
Shaping and grading of the existing ground have now begun, along with geotextile and subgrade material placement. Depending on weather and other factors, the roadway improvements along England Boulevard between George Elmer Drive and Flynn Lane may be completed as soon as this fall.  If England Boulevard is complete this fall, it will be open to traffic this winter.
 
General Updates
As mentioned above, Mullan Road's two roundabouts are nearing completion! Roundabouts move traffic efficiently. As a reminder, please slow down, yield, and look left when approaching the roundabout. Drivers within the roundabout have the right of way. Once clear, enter the roundabout. Prior to exiting, put your blinker on to indicate to other drivers where you intend to exit the roundabout. The idea is that movement occurs continually through the roundabout to keep traffic flowing. 
 
Please prepare for 10-20 minutes of delays when traveling through any of the above work zones.

Missoula County, the City of Missoula, and contractors have partnered with Kiewit Construction to complete the Mullan BUILD project, which is anticipated to be substantially completed by the end of 2022. The work includes infrastructure and roadway construction of Mary Jane Boulevard South, Mary Jane Boulevard North, England Boulevard, George Elmer Drive, and two roundabout intersections along Mullan Road (Mullan/George Elmer Drive and Mullan/Mary Jane Boulevard).
