What is a PROST Plan?

The Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) 2040 Master Plan is an overarching, 15-year plan that will guide the Parks and Recreation Department in meeting community-driven needs. The plan represents Missoula's collective vision for parklands, facilities, and recreation services while aligning with our community's shared goals of attainable housing, healthy environments, and healthy people.

The plan was developed with community input throughout the two-year engagement process and in coordination with the Our Missoula 2045 Land Use Plan. Missoula City Council adopted the 2040 PROST Plan on June 23, 2025.
